Sermon Samples
These samples were performed in their own contexts, at particular times. We very much encourage you to adapt, combine, and add to these to your own style, “voice,” and congregational needs.
The “A” series was by Larry Doyle with Faith United Church in Courtice, Ontario. The “B” series was by Greg Smith-Young with Elora and Bethany United Churches near Guelph, Ontario. You’ll notice one variation in the texts they used.
The sermons are in PDF format.

Sermon 1 is about Jacob’s experience at Bethel. It is an introduction to the Presence Project and the two sentences: "Surely God is in this place. Help me notice." It begins exploring the three postures, focusing on our awareness and availability.
